Emma works psychotherapeutically, using her integrative arts training, with clients, usually aged between four and eighteen years. By creating trust and safety within the context of the therapeutic relationship Emma is then able to work with children and young people using a host of mediums, such as art, sand, clay and puppets to deepen the work together.
Throughout the therapy sessions Emma will utilise, where appropriate, her training in and understanding of, attachment theory, the latest neuroscience frameworks, psychoanalytic theory and psychiatry to effect deep and meaningful change in the children and young people she works with.
Emma has experience in working with the following;
bereavement, parental separation, anxiety, depression, dissociative symptoms, children suffering the effects of parental alcohol and drug misuse, ADHD, developmental trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, ASD, sensory processing difficulties and children with developing oppositional traits.
